What We Believe

  • “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.” The Bible is the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.  (2nd Timothy 3:16; Psalm 40:7)
  • “How Great is Our God.” There is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  (Matthew 3:16-17; 28:19)
  • “Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God.” Jesus is both true God and true human, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, a sacrifice for our sins. Jesus arose in the flesh from the dead.  He appeared to many believers in different times and places.   He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the God almighty.  (Isaiah 7:14; 53:5-6, 8-9; Luke 16:5-7; Matthew 24:30; Acts 1:9,11; Philippians 2:6-7)
  • “Spirit of God, descend upon my heart.” The Holy Spirit indwells all true believers and enables them to live a Godly life.  (John 3.6-8; Romans 3:23; John 1:12-13)
  • “What can wash away my sin?” The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His Resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation before God for all.  Those who receive Jesus Christ are born again and receive the guarantee of eternal life.  (John 14:6; Romans 3:27-28; Acts 4:12)
  • “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” The true Church is composed of all persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit and are united together in the Body of Christ of which He is the Head.   (John 10.11)
  • “The church’s one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord.” The local church is the primary God-established base of operation for evangelistic activity in the world.   (Matt 16.13-19)
  • “When the roll is called up yonder” The personal and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ is a hope that informs and guides my daily walk with the Lord.  (Matt. 25:13; 2 Peter 3.10).
  • “He does not leave the guilty unpunished.” The bodily resurrection of the dead will find people going to one of two places:  the believer to everlasting joy and love with the Lord; the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting separation from God.    (Matthew 13:49-50; 26:46)
