Knox Fellowship board member, Dustin VanHook (Left in muddied blue shirt) and fellow collegiate evangelist, Peter Ware return to the Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO) fall conference after a session of Mud Football in Ligonier, PA, October 2011.
Coalition for Christian Outreach (CCO)
CCO is a campus ministry which partners with churches, colleges and other organizations to develop men and women who live out their Christian faith in every area of life. CCO’s ministry is distinct in three ways:
- The ministry is transformational. CCO challenges the students to submit every area of their lives to Jesus.
- CCO partners with churches and colleges placing staff in strategic positions of influence on campus. Some CCO staff serve on campuses as an extension of the local church such as Knox board member, Dustin Van- Hook who serves on two college campuses and at Covenant Central Presbyterian Church in Williamsport, PA where Paul Doriani is Sr. Pastor. Other CCO staffers may work as residence hall directors, coaches or student activities directors.
- CCO engages in contextual ministry, meaning that CCO staff people adjust to the needs of the particular campus at which they serve. No two CCO ministries look exactly alike. So Dustin adapts to life in Williamsport as an extension of the local church.
CCO’s Core Values
- All things belong to God.
- Jesus changes people’s lives.
- We love college students.
- Faithfulness is pursued together.
- We celebrate life.
CCO’s Core Purpose: Transforming college students to transform the world.
